App Screens by Department

Useroam Go does not show everyone the same screen. The tabs a staff member sees depend on three things: the modules enabled at the venue, the staff member's departments and their role (staff or manager).

1. Module level

Staff only see modules that are installed and switched on at the venue: hotel, restaurant, digital menu, event. A disabled module is inactive both in the app and on the guest side.

2. Department level

On the panel's Staff screen, the Departments section shows three boxes next to each department. They decide what staff in that department see in the app:

  • Requests, spots, tasks → the Requests, Rooms (Points in a restaurant) and Tasks tabs.
  • Orders, calls, floor → the Orders, Calls and Floor tabs.
  • Event QR scanning → the Event tab (Scan QR).

Staff in several departments see every section ticked for any of their departments. Deactivated departments do not count.

Staff without a department only see the Profile tab, with the warning "No work area has been given to you yet". Fix: add the person to at least one department in the panel.

Managers see everything regardless of department and get extra tools (Assign, Nudge, Add task). See Manager Tools and Tasks.

3. Which jobs do I see?

  • Requests: staff see requests for their own departments and requests they opened themselves.
  • Points and areas: each point can have an owner (a person or a department). Staff only see points they are responsible for. Points without an owner are visible to managers only.
  • Tasks: a task given to a person is visible only to that person; a task given to a department is visible to that department.

If the venue has both rooms and areas, a Rooms | Areas switch appears at the top.

4. Tabs

The bottom bar can show: Requests, Rooms (or Points), Tasks, Orders, Calls, Floor, Summary, Event and Profile. Each has its own page in this book. The Your access section on the Profile tab lists what your account can open.

5. Notifications

The app sends push notifications to the phone:

  • A job was assigned to you: when a new job is given to you.
  • Job moved to someone else: when a job you held is given to another person.
  • Reminder: when a manager taps Nudge on a job or task.
  • New message on a request: when a manager or staff member writes on a restaurant request.
  • SLA alert: to managers, for restaurant requests that run over time.
  • Task completed: to managers when staff finish a task (out-of-range measurements are flagged).

In the web app (PWA) version, notifications only work if the app has been added to the home screen and notification permission is granted.
