Portal Texts
The Staff Wi-Fi Texts screen lets you edit what staff read on the setup portal. Texts are kept in 22 languages and are stored per device.
Where is this screen? Staff Wi-Fi Texts in the left menu, directly below Staff WiFi.
1. Choosing a language
Pick one from the Language to edit list at the top. The badge next to each language shows how many texts are customised for this device in that language. A language with no badge is running entirely on the ready-made texts.
2. Text groups
- Login form — labels for the username and password fields, button captions.
- Status and error messages — what appears when the password is wrong, the connector is unreachable and so on.
- Setup result — the screen shown after the file has been produced.
- Android steps — certificate install and Wi-Fi form instructions.
- Windows steps — certificate import wizard instructions.
3. What leaving a field empty means
Fields you leave empty fall back to the ready-made text. You do not have to fill in everything — write only what you want to say differently. Clear a field later and it returns to the ready-made text.
Press Save and you get Texts saved. The change affects only the selected device's portal.
4. Things to watch
- Do not hard-code a server name. The portal already produces the Identity and Domain values and shows them on screen; a value typed into the text by hand may be wrong.
- Keep the step numbering intact. The Android and Windows steps are read in order.
- Follow your organisation's language. Edit whichever language most of your staff use first; the rest keep running on the ready-made texts.
